Deprtment of Economics was Established in 1975 Dr.Ch Surya Prakasa Rao Head, Department of Economics Dr.Ch.Rohini Kusum Lecturer, Department of Economics Deviating from traditional B.A.Programme,B.A.Economics, Mathematics& Statistics programme was started in 1975 kepping in mind the importance the mathematics background for economis5s. In the same year B.Com(TTP), B.Com(CA),B.Com(Honrs),BBA Programmes were started.B.A. Honours Economics Major and Computer Applications as Minor from 2023-2024. Apart from the regular curriculum , the students are trained in Computer Courses ,SPSS Package and class room seminars to suit their requirements. Compulsory Intetnship and viva for 200 marks is made a part of curriculum in B.A. The Department is conducting workshops, seminars, industrial tours field trips, skill oriented programmes and extension activitis for the benefit of students. Since inception the department has focused on emphasizing theoreticl and methodological issues in economics. The student of B.a are getting admissions in the reputed institutes like University of Hyderabad, University of Pondicherry and other institutes for PG Courses.
