Women Empowerment includes the action of raising the status of women through education, rasing awareness, literacy and training.
Women’s Empowerment is all about equipping and allowing women to make life-determining decision through the different problems in society.
Empowering Women to participate fully in economics life across all sectors is essential to build stronger economies, achieve internationally agreed goals for development and sustainability and improve the quality of life for women, men, families and communities.

- The Department of Computer Science, P.B.Siddhartha College of Arts & Science has conducted AWS Global Certification Training (AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner) for Girl Students by Honeywell for Women Empowerment in association with ICT Academy (Phase-II) for Under Graduate Students from 14th November 2022 to 26th November 2022 (Thirteen Days). 48 Girl Students from B.Sc.(MSCS)-A, B.Sc.(CAME), B.Sc.(MSDS), BCA have successfully completed the training program.
- An Invitation talk on Self Grooming & Fly Abroad was organized by Women Empowerment Committee and Women’s Club on 16th July 2022 for the degree and PG girls and Boys. Mrs. Madhuri Yelluri TANA, Women Empowerment Chair, Charlotte, North Carolina, USA was invited as guest. 188 students participated in this invitation talk.
- Step Ahead for Equality., Vijayawada, a non-political organization established to achieve women rights, Gender equality had also started a team of students who would reach the students in their classes as we cannot reach each and every student personally. One Girl and One Boy came forward voluntarily to spread the details regarding SAFE team activities and they were given badges on 20th October 2022.
- Beautician Course: The course had a duration of 45 days. The course started on 4th July 2022 and ended on 28th September 2022. Ms. Ajitha had trained the students in Threading, Facials, Manicure Pedicure. 116 students had learnt this course successfully from the institution.
- Workshop on Activism against Gender-based violence was organized in association with SAFE team. On 5th December 2022.
- Sanjana of I B.Sc CSCS and Vaibhavi of I B.Sc(BZC) won prizes in solo singing Competition held in Taruni Tarangaalu event in the month of February 2023.




NCC
The 4girls NCC wing envisions a student community empowered with the knowledge and dedication to contribute significantly to nation-building. We aim to foster responsible citizens who are well-equipped to face life's challenges.
The 4girls NCC wing is dedicated to:
- Raising awareness among students about the importance of the NCC program in fostering responsible citizens and national pride.
- Equipping cadets with valuable skills and experiences through participation in programs like the Republic Day parade, youth exchange programs, Thal Sainik Camp (TSC), Employment Bureau (EBSB), National Service Scheme (NSS), and Army attachment camps.
- Contributing to the holistic development of girl cadets by nurturing their confidence, leadership qualities, and mental resilience.
- Inspiring cadets to consider a rewarding career in the armed forces (optional, can be included if a strong emphasis is placed on this aspect).

On the occasion of 6th International Yoga Day, 4(A) Girls Battalion along with the Department of Physical Education of PB Siddhartha College of Arts and Science organised an interactive webinar stating the history, Importance and benefits of Yoga. The NCC Cadets spread the message of healthy life style by taking an offline pledge that every one will be gentle towards oneself and will do Yoga for better health.in A convention hall Vijayawada. The cadets also made videos in which they demonstrated various Asanas for Physical health, mental health & Peace.
PB Siddhartha College of Arts and Science welcomed the SWARNIM VIJAY VARSH’ –Vijay Mashaal’ 2021. The ‘SWARNIM VIJAY MASHAAL’, one of the four which was lit at the National war Memorial to celebrate the ‘SWARNIM VIJAY VARSH’, commemorating 50 years of India’s victory against Pakistan in the year 1971 war. Homage was paid to the brave and valiant soldiers of the Armed Forces who laid down their lives while protecting our motherland and helping our neighbour nation Bangladesh in its freedom.

Unit-I |
Unit – I mainly concentrated on Street Cow Feeding. Every Sunday the Program Officer and the volunteers of this unit use to feed street cows in and around the Vijayawada city. The units also making efforts to minimize the air pollution from vehicles by conducting awareness at traffic signals. |
Unit-II |
Unit – II mainly concentrated on Live Blood Donations, Charities and Rural Development. The Program Officer and the volunteers of this unit use to visit the Orphanages and Old-age Homes in and around the Vijayawada city and provide the necessary provisions First aid medicine and also books and stationery to the students in Orphanages and Government Schools. Every year three Blood donation camps are conducted with minimum of 100 packets of blood per camp. |

To encourage the players to participate in various competitions organized by both institutions and other public bodies. The Department wishes to have a sports physiotherapy lab and exercise physiology lab with the changing needs of the times. The Department wishes to keep the playground and all other facilities readily available not only for the students and staff of the College but also for use by the youth and public of the surrounding areas.

The Wildlife Institute of India's Dean, leading the cheetah reintroduction and Great Indian Bustard conservation breeding programs, delivered a thought-provoking talk at P.B.S. College on "Infusion of Science in Large Carnivore Conservation." The talk focused on the potential for large carnivore conservation even in densely populated areas, with the right management strategies. Over 200 students from nearby institutions attended, learning the importance of scientific approaches in wildlife preservation. The session successfully sparked a sense of conservation responsibility within the audience.
P.B.S. College held an Ozone Day seminar on September 16th, 2023, co-organized by the Green Club and the Pollution Board. The event aimed to educate students about the ozone layer, its vulnerability, and the environmental consequences of its depletion. Discussions also highlighted the Montreal Protocol's success in tackling this issue. Over 150 students from environmental clubs participated, raising awareness and promoting a sense of environmental responsibility.
P.B.S. College commemorated the death anniversary of the renowned poet and cultural icon, Gurujada Apparao, on November 26th, 2023. The event celebrated his life and lasting contributions to Indian society and culture. Students and college staff actively participated in the open-ground ceremony, remembering his dedication and significant role in shaping the nation's identity.
To mark National Pollution Control Day on December 2nd, 2023, P.B.S. College's Green Club collaborated with the Andhra Pradesh State Energy Conservation Mission. Students organized a public rally to raise awareness about pollution control and prevention of industrial disasters. The rally, featuring slogans and messages, aimed to encourage both government and individuals to take action for a cleaner and healthier environment.
In observance of World Environment Day on April 3rd, 2023, the Green Club hosted a talk focused on reducing plastic usage. The talk, led by Director Sri Vemuri Babu Rao, addressed the theme of plastic pollution and its detrimental impact on the planet. The event aimed to educate students and the community about the importance of minimizing single-use plastics. A resolution to ban plastic on campus was implemented, reflecting a commitment to a cleaner and more sustainable future.
In honor of World Earth Day on April 22nd, 2023, the Green and Eco Clubs joined forces for a celebratory event. The focus was on highlighting the critical role of forests in maintaining healthy ecosystems. Students enthusiastically participated in various competitions like poster making and "best from waste" creations. The guest speaker, N.V. Bhaskara Rao, Joint Chief Environment Engineer, commended the students for their creativity and commitment to environmental protection. This event served as a powerful reminder of our responsibility to protect the planet for future generations.
On April 3rd, 2023, the Green and Eco Clubs took a step towards a plastic-free campus by organizing a plastic waste collection drive. This initiative aimed to educate students about responsible waste management and the dangers of plastic pollution. Students actively participated in the collection process, using eco-friendly bags and baskets. The collected waste was then sorted and disposed of in designated bins. This event not only promoted a cleaner campus environment but also encouraged a more sustainable future.
The Green and Eco Clubs took the initiative on March 28th, 2023, to promote sustainable waste management through a pipe composting workshop. Students actively built a composting system using recycled pipes and canteen vegetable waste. This hands-on experience aimed to educate them on aerobic composting methods and encourage the wider student community to adopt pipe composting at home, reducing overall waste generation.
In recognition of World Forestry Day on March 21st, 2023, the Green and Eco Clubs organized a guest lecture in the college seminar hall. B.V.A. Krishna Murthy, Deputy Conservator of Forests, served as the resource person, enlightening students on the crucial role of forests in combating climate change, global warming, and greenhouse gas emissions. The event aimed to raise awareness within the student community and the public about the importance of forests for the survival of all living beings and the planet itself.

KRISHNA TARANG-2022
Our cultural students participated in the ‘Krishna Tarang-2022’ Inter-collegiate Youth Festival conducted by Krishna University, Machilipatnam on December 9 and 10. Out of 27 events, the students won 23 including 10 first prizes, 9 second prizes and 4 third prizes, eventually winning the OVERALL CHAMPIONSHIP for the fourth time with 52 points.
